Explorer malfunction

Quick question - the last couple of days I will be browsing the web, or playing a game on facebook and all of a sudden IE will go full screen mode where the address bar disappears. Even if I hit F11, it will reduce the size of my browser, but if I then hit the maximise button it maximises it, but back in full screen mode. Doesnt seem to matter what I hit, it stays that way.

The other problem that seems to occur when this happens is that I am unable to type. Instead it opens favourites, or inprivate filtering etc.

The only way I have been able to fix these problems is a restart.

Any ideas whats happening?

I run IE8 on Vista.
