I have an HP dv7-1451nr Notebook computer. I have upgraded the factory operating system to Windows 7 64-bit a while back so I don't know if my issue is due to this.

At some point, my built in webcam has ceased functioning. When I attempt to start programs like YouCam or HP Media programs, I get the error "Cannot connect to this video device (USB Video Device). Please select another capture device via Settings or close any application that may be using this video device and restart YouCam."

Before when it did work properly, a small LED light to the left of the camera would light up when it was on and go off when turned off. Now it seems as if there is a very dim light on constantly and the webcam doesn't appear to be working.

Any suggestions on how to make my webcam operable again?
Thanks! Allen (webmaster@oakhillonline.org)

Look under "Software - Multimedia" on this HP.com page:

http://h10025.www1.h...t=3979512#N1957

Note: Make sure you select your correct version of Windows 7 at the top of that page, (either "32-bit" or "64-bit").
