i am running XP Pro SP3.
I want to remove the recycle bin icon from the desktop -- but still keep it in windows explorer or know how to get at it if I need to see what is in it.
I can remove the icon by
gpedit.msc >administrative>desktop>remove recycle bin icon from desktop>enable

but that also takes it away from windows epxlorer and I don't know how to find it (unless i put the icon back on).

Any help appreciated!
