I have a number of WIN2000 with SP4 PC's. My objective is to upgrade them to IE6 SP1. I have written a .vbs script to automate the upgrade process in silent mode and without any human intervention. I am a Domain Administrator.

WHen the IE6 process starts, in other words, the IE6 GUI appears, within seconds windows responds with the following error.

RUN32.EXE DLL INITALISATION FAILURE. Then the system will restart.

I have re-registered the dll on all client computers, yet this has not resolved the issue.

Every Win 2000 client that I have used, responds with the identical error.

What I do not understand, is why this error appears and what exactly is causing this error.

Can someone please advise me or point me in the correct direction.

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
