monitor will not connect

I have just replaced my motherboard with MA770-UD3 and a xfx 8800gs graphics card but the monitor keeps saying its not connected and turns to standby I have made sure its in properly connected can any one help please

You don't get anything to come up on the screen when you power it on? BIOS or anything? Are you getting any POST beeps? Can you check the video card in another computer to verify that it works? Is the memory compatible with the motherboard also?
