Hi ree2975 ... ;) ..:D

we may be able to help BUT you need to explain in more detail exactly what is happening...

tell us everything you tried to fix the problem and what the results were...

did you add any new hardware or software recently...
get any updates for xp or any software just prior to the problem...
what is the make and model of your computer...
what are your system specs...

can you boot into safe mode...if you can, how does it run...
try system restore
go back at least a week before you started having problems...

I've really done nothing at this point as I am not very computer literate.

did you add any new hardware or software recently...

NO

get any updates for xp or any software just prior to the problem...

No

what is the make and model of your computer...

Dell Dimension 8300

what are your system specs...

Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 3, Pentium 4 3.4 GHz, 512 MB RAM

can you boot into safe mode...if you can, how does it run...

I have yet to boot in safe mode because the computer runs, I'm just worried about the error message.

try system restore
go back at least a week before you started having problems...

I'll try system restore, and let you know what happens if it changes anything.
