I have a Dell Dimension 2350.
I have just upgraded it from 256mb ram to 1gb ram.
I also put a bigger hard drive from a Maxtor 40gb to a Maxtor 160gb.

Here is where the problem is:
After I installed the new hard drive I then formatted the partition & installed Windows XP on to it.
Then I tried to Restart it & it would not boot to Windows XP.
It gave me this Error Message: MEDIA TEST FAILURE, CHECK CABLE NO BOOT DEVICE DETECTED
I've tried to reinstall XP on it but that didn't work.
I've checked all the cables to the hard drive.

What could be the Problem?
What can I do to Fix it?

Thanks

Have you checked the boot order in the BIOS and is the new HDD detected and set to boot 1st?
What is the status of the error lights on the computer any error beeps etc?

Thanks for the Help! :D

The problem was the Boot Order of the HDD.
I had to put the HDD first in Boot Order & it booted to Windows XP.
Now I don't have the Dell Drivers CD so I will have to Download the Drivers Online.
I also need Microsoft Word to put on it.

Thanks pphillpower2 ;)
