TR/Dropper.gen In External Hard Drive

Good Day,
I have been using my external hard drive 320gb (USB) for almost 3yrs now. Then 2 days ago my Avira antivir free ware detected TR/Dropper on one of my files. I thought I could quarantine it but then more notice pops up as more files are infected. Some were infected with TR/dropper.gen2 and others has TR/Drop.Agent.cekr. It infected 6 more files before I gave up and detached my external hard drive to stop it from infecting everything. I really need to retrieve those files. please help. Thanks

I'm not really good with computers hope you'll be patient in helping me with my problem.
