When I have exceeded my broadband download limit, I would like to be able to delay the download [to Outlook Express] of my bulky emails, till I have bandwidth again. Gmail webmail does not seem to display email size, nor have a way of setting that to display, so that I can make a download choice based on size. What is the remedy ?

Why are you downloading GMail to Outlook Express?

Simply leave it all in GMail and view it on the web.

You need to either: 1) get rid of the broadband limit or, 2) change what you're doing so you don't exceed it.

Basty, With Gmail on the web you aren't downloading the mail until you click on it and open it, same with attachments. Gmail lets you make folders and the search function is lots better than OE. The link you showed only tells how to determine how much fre space you have in your Gmail account. It has nothing to do with the size of individual emails. Gmail will indicate the size of the attachment and allow you to "view" or "download". Viewing takes less bandwidth.

It was pointed out to me elsewhere that I can do EXACTLY what I want in Outlook Express,
rather than in Gmail. In O.E.'s Message Menu, I can 'Create Rule for Message'; in 1, place a tick for 'Where the message size is more than size'; in 2 tick 'Do NOT download it from the server' and in 3 state the (filter) size. Works well !
