Welp, as the Topic Description/Title says, My headsets' mic isn't working for some reason.

A while ago I had formatted my computer but before than it had worked fine. Now after I had reformatted the computer the mic won't seem to work anymore..

I highly doubt its a software issue with whatever program I use the mic with since I used the same software/programs before formatting.

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: Also my apologies if this is the wrong forum, but considering I'm using WinXP Professional SP3 and there isn't a category for headsets, I figured this'd be the place.

Hi LilDude772 :D
You need to provide information about your computer, this includes is it
a laptop or desktop, is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP
and if it is provide the model name or series number, if you know the MB
details it will save some time because after formatting all your drivers need
to be re-installed and unless you have them all saved on a disk etc you need to
re-install them in order normally starting with the chipset, see the attached
link which is for example only; http://support.dell....0401E0A55174744
Providing your system information will enable others to help you better.

I highly doubt its a software issue with whatever program I use the mic with since I used the same software/programs before formatting.

Meaning drivers will need to be re-installed, which are software.

HP Pavilion Desktop Model a640n

EDIT: I am running Windows XP Professional (SP 3)(Version 2002) with the following:

AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor 3400+
2.19 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

(The above was taken from My Computer--Ctrl Panel--System--General)

And have been keeping constant update with Windows Update.

Well. I downloaded the driver you provided. It fixed a little bit, except now instead of hearing nothing in my headset when I talk I hear this weird thumping sound..

LilDude772,

Do you have another mic you could try? Does it do the same thing? Have you tried unplugging and plugging it in again?

Umm..I don't, but I could perhaps borrow my cousins headset..I'm dearly hoping it isn't anything software/hardware related. =/

My apologies for the long term of silence.

It comes to the fact that My headset is indeed the problem, and it is nothing software/hardware (Internal) related.

Thanks for the help everyone!
