Help needed to identify correct DVD-RW

Hi

I am a newbie and need to replace both the DVD-RW, and the DVD in my tower.

I ordered replacements with SATA connections (I think) from ebuyer but the connections on them are wrong for my computer.

This is a picture of the back of my current DVD RW showing the correct connections.

I have a Dell Dimension 5100.

According to the manual for the 5100 you don't need a new drive, you can use the one you've just bought, the SATA drive(s).

If you don't have them already, you need one of these for each drive:

The one you show is a IDE or PATA drive. The picture below shows a IDE connection on the top and SATA on the bottom.

according to the manual like Neil said you can use the drive you just bought

as to a addition to what Neil said i think this might come in handy for you

you only have 2 sata port and i think your hdd is sata too so that might give you a problem
