I'm running Windows XP and have just had to do a total re-installation after a virus problem. Finally got everything working except that I CAN'T DOWNLOAD. When I click on "Download Now" to get a program or piece of software, the file name is shown in the "Save As" box as "uncomfirmed87948" (or some other number)and the File Type as"CRDOWNLOAD File(.crdownload). This is then downloaded but is completely meaningless.

I have tried downloading from a number of sites with the same result.

Does anyone have a solution?

Cheers!!

Only time I heard of this 'crdownload' filename extension problem was from people who were using Google Chrome to download with. They stopped using Chrome & switched to Firefox or Opera. Problem solved (for them it was, anyway).
