Sunday some lovely hacker deleted the SAM file which contains all the Vista Passwords. The PC will not respond to Hirens Boot Disc and I was advised to use a USB2.0 Drive Mate to read the HD, transfer the data files to a netbook, delete C: and reinstall from the partitioned drive.

Now that I'm confronted with a HD on my desk, I have no idea, step by step how I'm going to get this done.

Can someone direct me to a idiot step by idiot step set of instruction to accomplish all I need to do to get my PC functional again?
