Dell Dimension 8400 with XP Pro - SP3.

While online, got Avast alert for RTKit (I believe) could not read entirely as it flashed by quickly and then the screen went full blue with the following:

"Stop: c00010b4 Unknown Hard Error" and
"Unknown Hard Error"

Had to power down and on reboot it shows the Dell screen with the F2 and F12 options - all normal - but then goes to black screen with blinking cursor at top left. Tried to reboot several times. Can do F2 and F12 Setup options from Dell screen. Ran the F2 diagnostics check on the HDD and indicates OK. System will not start in F8 Safe Mode. Have not installed any software for months. Googled error, see several "Unknown Hard Errors" but not the same code number. Any ideas of what has happened? Corrupt files? Suggested diagnosis or repairs? I Do online banking, credit card shopping, etc. - very concerned about potential hacking and safety.........PLease Help - Desperate!! Thanks.
