Trend Micro™ CWShredder™
finds and destroys traces of CoolWebSearch. CoolWebSearch is a name given to a wide range of different browser hijackers. Though the code is very different between variants, they are all used to redirect users to coolwebsearch.com and other sites affiliated with its operators.

CWShredder has been updated to include new CoolWebSearch variants. CWShredder now cleans the CWS.Cassandra variant that includes a desktop hijack as well as a browser hijack.

Originally developed by Merijn Bellekom of the Netherlands, CWShredder™ is now owned and maintained by Trend Micro™.

It's been confirmed that the new version will remove a huge amount of entries if you are using a custom HOSTS file. There is no backup made: It is advised that you rename your HOSTS file before you run CWShredder 2.19.
