Hi, I have been trying to recover the sound for some weeks now. It was lost when my friend was playing about with it, something to do with a cassette player playing through the laptop, I'm not sure I didn't take much notice at the time. He said that he was also playing about with realtek, trying to adjust the sound.

I think what happened was he accidently deleted the driver.

I have downloaded and installed the correct driver from emachines website, installed it and rebooted, but no joy.

I noticed that the windows audio service wasn't running, I have tried to start it but I am getting the following error - 1059 Circular service dependancy was specified.

Plug and Play services will not start either I am getting this error - Service did not respond in a timely fasion

I would really love to get the sound back as I do a lot of audio editing on the machine.

Many Thanks
