hi

I have just loaded xp pro onto my old work machine through booting from CD , windows is working well but I have lost the video and sound , I don't think the computer is able to locate the drives , I have tried to download the drives but still no luck

The computer is a HP Compaq DX2200

I think you mean "drivers", not "drives". As with all big-brand-name computers, HP/Compaq supply their own drivers on their support website. These are the only drivers you should use since if obtained from anywhere else they may not be fully compatible.
