I read somewhere here, not to download Malwarebytes from anywhere but
http://www.malwareby...am-download.php
but when I click on Download, page goes to www.techspot.com, am I being re-directed or is this the site to download from?

I don't remember where I originally downloaded from, but my version on one computer is from 2008, I wanted the new version since it didn't want to update.

where else should I try? Is Majorgeeks ok?
thanks for any info

Your link goes to Fileforum for me. I believe it's mirrored at different sites since some malware will prevent security forums from being accessed.

Thank you sari,

I downloaded MBAM from Majorgeeks for my other laptop, it seems to be running ok. I had Kaspersky2010 check the downloaded file first.

I just don'remember ever seeing www.techspot.com and don't know if I can trust it. It is a long way to learn, whom to trust, since I only go to a few known sites (the more years the better) I know about, I was a bit puzzled, but I understand your explanation.

MBAM does randomize thier downloads. I'm sure there's more than one reason, availability being among them. Those sites also help increase the visiblity of MBAM, likely increase sales of the full version, and save MBAM a large bandwidth bill.

FYI, our MBAM download link is a direct download from their server.

Most antimalware tools say something like that, and it's actually good advice, if the publisher of the software provides a list of what sites are "approved".

The link you posted ( http://www.malwareby...am-download.php ) always leads to one of the current mirrors. No matter where it leads you, you will always get the latest release. :D
