I tried changing the file association back to word pad but all that did was show me a document with a bunch of mised up letters,I then unstalled open office and that did no good and I tryed to get some help from their site and go nothing I just want to things back to the way they were any one know haow to do that?

Use Windows' "System Restore" to return Windows to a previous state when your computer was functioning correctly.
