Hi,

Can you please answer these questions regarding excel?
I use Excel 97. I created a macro using VB editor in excel and ran it. I closed and opened the file. At the start I got the enable macro or disable macro message. I chose 'disable macro'. Went in and deleted it from Tools->Macro menu. But I keep getting the enable/disable macro message every time I open the file. I went in and looked at the list of macros and my macro isnt there ( in 'All open workbooks' setting). Please tell me how to get rid of this message!!

Another thing is that, I received an excel file with 2 passwords set. One for opening it and another for 'write access' I think. I entered both passswords, went inside the file and tried to remove the passwords. But when I went to Tools->Protection menu, then options said protect sheets and other stuff instead of the 'unprotect' that I was looking for.... Please help!!!!!!!!! Please help me remove the passwords once and for all. Thank you.

I remember having this problem also. This might not be what you want, but I just copied my data to a new Excel file and saved that file, then deleted this one.

If the above is not convenient for you (probably if you have a huge spreadsheet), then take a look at this site and see if that macro will get rid of all of them. I know you deleted them already, but try running this macro and see what happens. Delete the macro itself after you ran it. Save and exit. Open up and see if it still asks you about the macros.

Don't know how I did it, but I just tried this myself and don't see it either. I have to play around with this. But I did a search and found an easier way. This program will add those two options to unprotect it. Download Password Remover.
