Im trying to install a router to two of my home computers and im having trouble renewing the ip address. It works on the one computer but when I try on the other I keep getting the same error. (both computers run windows xp if this matters)
When typing ipconfig/release I get this:

The operation failed because no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation.

What does this mean? is there something I have to do to my network card for it to work?
