Somehow I hit a wrong key and now everything I type looks something
like this: words.are.all.connected.to.each.other.

What did I do? How can I get out of this mode? And why, I wonder, would
anyone want it?

Thanks ... wdc

Goto tools>options>view>formatting marks. Are any of those checked?

Does it print out with the dots?

Spike: I found the fix - a paragraph symbol on the tool bar: toggling that turns the dot-between-words feature ON/OFF. I still don't know why anyone would want that feature (or even what it is called). Thanks for your help. ....wdc
