My laptop got infected a while back and has never been the same since. I was going to re install Win7 but decided to take the plunge and switch to Ubuntu completely instead of running it as a partition.

How do I completely blank and start again?

EDIT: It's a laptop, not sure if this effects anything so added it just in case...

Would the Netbook version be better?

Thanks for letting us know.
As a side note, I hope you didn't remove your recovery partition because if you did, you will have a hard time going back to Windows 7.
