BSOD on windows 7 "An attempt was made to write to read-only memor

Hi,
I downloaded a codec file to run a stupid movie, and I think my system got infected with a virus or something. It keeps on shutting down/ re-starting. This Bsod keeps appearing everytime the system restarting, it says(read below):

iastor.sys
An attempt was made to write to read-only memory
If this is the first time......safe mode

.

I have already re-installed the windows but the problem still persisits, keeps shuuting and restatring and showing the same [bleep] blue screen. I cannot be on the windows for more than 10 seconds! PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!!!
