My explorer .exe freezes again and again. IT happens a lot (but not only) when i try to adjust the computers volume with the manual scrolly wheel on the front of my laptop. when i click anywhere on my system try or anywhere on the whole bar it says explorer .exe is not responding. then i click close or restart and the bar disappears and re-appears but with the same problem. i click it and it doesn't respond. often times even if it does start to respond i'm missing my volume control in the system try and it wont even let me re-enable it from the options.

I'm not sure if this is being caused by a virus or not...

Ill run any of the diagnostic scans needed. just not sure whats appropriate for this.
