Sound skipping

Okay im running windows 7 and if i play basically any video game especially WoW if im running anything else my music will skip no matter what music player i use i have a pci audio device for my speakers then i use a usb headset when i am on ventrilo does anyone else have this problem or anyone know how to fix this problem?
