D-berd,
I returned the psu that I had bought and got a new one and did what you said, but I have recieved another bsod running the same game that I had trouble with on my original psu:

I also have a new problem, my computer will randomly power down when I load certain programs. I have installed a Thermaltake tr2-rx 850w psu. I went to the Antec website and did a psu calculation on my rig and I shouldn't need more than ~550w to run at normal operation. I am certain that the psu has something faulty. Also ran speed fan, and my 3.3v and +12v are both operation at the same values as my original psu, but I get different results from this psu. What gives?

That error has to do with your nvidia drivers.
Please run a new SIW and include the sensor readings in your next post.

For the driver issue lets try a more drastic approach.


Download and install Free Everest Home Edition
Open it.
1: In left pane expand Computer folder.
2: Click once on Summary
3: In upper menu, go Report
4: And then to Quick Report-Summary
5: Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.
Click the + by computer, click on Sensor. Get a screenshot and post it so I can check your temps and voltages...


DO NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING UNDER THE LINE THAT SAYS "DEBUG- PCI"

In post 6 I had you download SIW and run it. You should already have the program on your system. :D
The video card info is appreciated but what I need to know is it built on the motherboard or is it physically a video card?

I found the newest driver for your video card on Nvidia's site located HERE

I suggest updating to the newest one since it has increased support for several games that I read.

I am already running the newest version of video drivers version 260.99.

I have read a few reviews though and heard that it is plagued with bugs. the first driver version prior to that is supposed to be more stable, but yeilded the same results on the original psu, so I am not so sure what the problem might be.

Have you tried rolling back the driver to the older one?
Was there a issue to start that caused you to update the driver?

When I first started getting bsods, I did the research on the drivers and rolled back hoping it would clear it up since the most recurring cause of bsod is nv4_disp.dll. I got the same results from the rolled back driver and saw no point in keeping with the older version and went back to 260.99.

OK then lets take a aggressive stand at this.



Please download and install EVGA Precision from here. (Click on the Download (America) or Download (Europe) link, then scroll down and click on I Agree.)

Run EVGA Precision. On the right side, you should see Fan Speed and, beside it, an Auto button. Click the Auto button so that it is no longer selected, then change the Fan Speed to 100%. Now, go to the left side, and on the bottom, click Apply.

If that doesn't alleviate crashes, try this:

First, uninstall the NVIDIA drivers (if they are still installed) using Add or Remove Programs. You can get to Add or Remove Programs by clicking on the Start Button, then clicking on Control Panel. Then click Add or Remove Programs. Once in Add or Remove Programs, you need to find NVIDIA Drivers and click Change/Remove. (If you have an NVIDIA chipset, make sure the NVIDIA Display Driver checkbox is checked, then click Remove. Otherwise, just click Yes.)

Next, please download and install Driver Sweeper from here. (Click on the Download (Europe) link, then scroll down and click on I Agree.)

Then, boot the computer into safe mode. To do this,
  • Turn the computer on (or restart the computer if it is already on).
  • Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Boot Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
  • Ensure that the Safe mode option is selected.
  • Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in safe mode.
Next, open the program, Guru3D Driver Sweeper, that you just installed. Check the checkbox for cleaning NVIDIA - Display drivers. Then press the Clean button.

Reboot normally (not into safe mode), and then, install the newest drivers again.

Reboot when prompted, and let us know if you still receive the error message.
