i have system tool version 2.20 that has taken over my computer. I have tried to do all of the otl versions and the rkill but it says they are infected and won't let them open.

Do you have the facility to burn a cd on another computer ? The version should allow you to get online from the infected computer

• Download OTLPENet.exe to your desktop
• Ensure that you have a blank CD in the drive
• Double click OTLPENet.exe and this will then open imgburn to burn the file to CD
• Download the following scan.txt to a USB
  [attachment=46545:scan.txt]
• Reboot your system using the boot CD you just created.
  Note : If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from CD follow the steps here
• As the CD needs to detect your hardware and load the operating system, I would recommend a nice cup of tea whilst it loads
  
  
• Your system should now display a Reatogo desktop.
  Note : as you are running from CD it is not exactly speedy
• Double-click on the OTLPE icon.
• Select the Windows folder of the infected drive if it asks for a location
• When asked "Do you wish to load the remote registry", select Yes
• When asked "Do you wish to load remote user profile(s) for scanning", select Yes
• Ensure the box "Automatically Load All Remaining Users" is checked and press OK
• OTL should now start.
• Double click the Custom scans and fixes box
• In the dialogue locate the scan.txt you have on the USB
• Press Run Scan to start the scan.
• When finished, the file will be saved in drive C:\OTL.txt
• Copy this file to your USB drive if you do not have internet connection on this system.
• Right click the file and select send to : select the USB drive.
• Confirm that it has copied to the USB drive by selecting it
• You can backup any files that you wish from this OS
• Please post the contents of the C:\OTL.txt file in your reply.

i don't have a cd rom but I do have a back-up drive, could I save it there and then still run it on my pc from there versus cd?

Yes that should work - is it a USB drive or a second drive in the system ?

i found a cd and got it to work but when i get to double click on otlpe it says to choose a windows directory, but I didn't know which one to choose. I assumed to choose system c but when i click okay it says -runscanner error target it not windows 2000 or later. i click okay and the error screen closes and nothing happens

OK open the c drive part and navigate to the windows directory and select that

OK, I have the scan.txt on a USB but when I double click on the custom scans/fixes box and try to navigate to the USB I get the follow warning and it won't let me navigate anywhere.

Can you drag and drop the file into the custom scans box ? If not just press scan and I will work from that

i couldn't download it so I hit scan and I got:
Untitled - Notepad: notepade.exe - bad image
the application of DLL E:\Windows|system32|shell32.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check the against your installation diskette. It did give me a note pad but when i tried to save it i couldn'tfind the usb. then it disappeared.

Is the OTL log on the desktop at all ? Are you able to access the internet from the infected system ?

I found the txt file but can't copy it and move it to a usb and can't save it to another location to pull off and can't get to the internet as we are running off the cd drive.
