When you stert the program you should be able to tell it which hd to scan.
Most AV's have the option to scan either

i really cant find that... but i transferred the data anyway
the computer makes a lot of noise though... every few minutes the fans produce a lot of speed/noise... even when the computer is idle
i talked to Dell... they said its because i had the old BIOS and i upgraded to bios A05 or something and this should stop in a few days after the computer gets adjusted to the new bios upgrade.... any thoughts on this? thanks

If you have transferred the data then run the AV on the new hd to make sure.
The bios settings really shouldn't take that long but maybe Dell has something different with their bios updates.
By upgraded the bios they must mean you got a newer mobo with a newer bios cause this is the first I have heard of any bios upgrade on your end. This is not something we advise people to do unless it adds some added functionality to the mobo. They must have meant the newer bios on the new system.

Give it a couple of days like Dell says and then if it doesn't stop talk to them. This is a new system so it should work right.
It may just be the fans kicking in to blow out the heat inside the system but I don't know for sure.

Every system has heat. The fans are there to exhaust it out.
To mount the hd you should have a area in the case where the hd slides in to and then depending on the case it either snaps in or you have to screw it in.

Probably not if the systems were not exactly the same.
In order to do that you would also need to change the boot sequence so that the old hd was the boot drive.
You should be able to open a windows explorer window and then open the old drive from there and explore it.
You can see from there what programs were installed by usually looking in the Program File directory.

You can not boot to the old hard drive.
The old hard drive has drivers for the old unit. The new unit would have different drivers.
You will have boot issues and it may not boot at all.
