Dutch Laptop IBM T40 Series

Hi,

A friend has a IBM Thinkpad. T40 series purchased in Netherlands.
It has funny keyboard, I've plugged in a USB british keyboard but when clicking on the @ for example you get some weird symbol as per the keyboard on the lap top. The Keyboard is set to British in Control Panel.

Any ideas?
