What was the reason for the new hard drive, simply to improve on perhaps larger capacity or problems.
If problems - it could be your ram - that is faulty.
Is the new hard drive seen in the BIOS
How far does the CD work before the error
Do not be offended but is this a geuine Microsoft XP or OEM XP installation disc
