Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:
http://www.noidea.us...050515010747824
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
http://www.pchell.co.../safemode.shtml


Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Next please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

First thing we need to do is this:

Push CTRL>ALT>DEL and locate wupdt.exe in the running processes. Click the "stop" button to turn it off. Then locate this file and delete it.

Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and delete the following files in bold (if found):

C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe


I will post with more instructions soon. After we get you cleaned up I will tell you how to better protect your computer.

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

First,
Please run Notepad and copy the following text into a new file:

@ECHO OFF
cd\windows
Nail.exe /FULLREMOVE
sc config SvcProc start= disabled
sc stop SvcProc
sc delete SvcProc
attrib -s -r -h nail.exe
attrib -s -r -h svcproc.exe
del nail.exe
del svcproc.exe
exit

Save the file to the desktop as remove.bat and make sure the "Save as type" field says "All files".

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on remove.bat. A window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Open HijackThis
Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following, making sure you get them all and not any others by mistake:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

There will also be an item towards the bottom of the O4 section in HijackThis (it should be the last O4 item marked "HKLM", and it should be between the entries for [iTunesHelper] and [Win Server Updt]). This item will be marked with "garbage" random characters. However, it seems to be renaming itself so the name will most likely be different by the time you follow these directions. In your previous log it was:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ryoulf] c:\windows\system32\jacnen.exe

Whatever the name of the item is, check it. Then close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Then delete the file listed in the random O4 entry. In the above example you would delete

c:\windows\system32\jacnen.exe

Restart your computer

Scan the computer here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/
Let it do a full run, than copy the log. Past it to a blank Notepad file and save it to post here.
Than let it rerun. Save that log too.



Second,
You have a CoolWebSearch infection.

Download CWShredder here to its own folder.

Update CWShredder

* Open CWShredder and click I AGREE
* Click Check For Update
* Close CWShredder


Boot into Safe Mode:
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Now run CWShredder. Click I Agree, then Fix and then Next, let it fix everything it asks about. Reboot your computer into normal windows.

wupdt.exe does not show up as a process and could not find C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe either.

2.) I unistalled Viewpoint and there is another program called "ABI NETWORK - a division of Direct Revenue" that I wanted to unistall but couldn't. A page came up saying I need to get the uninstall tool from mypctuneup.com

An HTML page opens up (source is C:\WINDOWS\abiuninst.html) - when I close the HTML window it takes me back to the Control Panel. I can't seem to uninstall this program though.
