In the interest of saving money I'm trying to stay on top of computer maintainence by following advice found here, running a good aniti-virus, etc. Well my Mom has finally decided to join us in the modern world and I'm trying to give the 3.5 year old laptop a full tune up for her to learn on.
(And get myself a new netbook or tablet for running around). I am hoping if I post the registry log here I can get some help know what to eliminate. I appreciate it.

OK we know it's a laptop but what is the make and model?
What about returning it to factory new without all the stuff you have put on it since you got it?

Sorry it's an HP Pavillion dv9500.

And I don't even get the factory return comment (I'll claim holiday mind overload). I haven't actually added much to this machine, as I took it over as a stopgap when a fosterchild dropped mine. It's mostly just word processing and itunes, which she wants. Mom had it for awhile when it was new and her well meaning "friends" helped her with it. I am just trying to finish undoing all that help. And admittedly lack the knowledge to know what I can safely get rid of at some levels.

What do you mean she wants?
The data maybe but the actual programs would have to be installed on her desktop.
Are you saying she wants to keep them on the laptop at the same time?
If so that means we have to do this a different way then a full system recovery.
We will have to go through the system a little at a time to figure out exactly what to uninstall and what to keep.
