Hi, I'm new to Geeks to Go..

I've got a 5 year old Dell Inspiron 9300 with Windows XP
with Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) is already installed.
Linksys wireless router.
Everything was working fine up to 7 days ago Dec20.
No issues getting to the internet and surfing.

Then I started getting disconnected from the internet. my pages just froze.
I started viewing the network wireless connection status and performing a repair.
This fixed my internet connection issue but it kept occuring and I kept perfroming the repair.
I finally got the error: "Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network"
I had beend doing periodic sweeps using apps 'Advanced system care (free version)
but decided to buy 'Pro' version on Dec25 and performed the cleanup.

Now I cant get to the internet at all.
1) repair doesnt work.
2) ipconfig/renew doesnt work

Did you try WinSockFix?

Download it from the following link:

i executed winsockxfix today and it did not fix the error.

when rebooting, I'm not connecting to the internet.

i tried an run > ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew.
getting message: an error occured while renewing interface wireless network connection:
The DHCP client has obtained an IP address htat is already in use on the network.
the local interface wil be disabled until the DHCP client can obtain a new address.
no operation can b performed on the local area connection wilie it has its media disconnected.
anything I can do?

Temporarily uninstall Advanced System Care just in case it's making your problem worse.

Check your drivers in Device Manager. Any issues there?

Disconnect any other computer on the network from the Internet (just for now).

And then do the ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew commands.

Try using Windows' "System Restore" to roll Windows back to a previous state when your computer was functioning correctly, (Dec 20th?):
