Hello!
Well, I need RAM. I know what kind of RAM is compatible, what type it is, all that good stuff.
The thing I want to know is can I put in two different kinds of RAM chips in my computer? Like two different brands.

-Example:
can I mix 4 gb of DDR3 CONSAIR RAM with 8 Gb of DDR3 ADATA?

OR
Is it ok if they are the same brand?

-Example
4 gb of DDR3 Consair RAM with 8 gb of DDR3 Consair RAM

To sum it all up the question is can I mix RAM or do they have to be the exact same kind?

Thanks!

Although not optimal it should work. It is always best to have matching memory but unless there is a clock difference or frequency difference you should have no problems.
12 gigs of memory you should have no problem running multiple apps at the same time.
