i ve got scareware need help removing

I'm pretty sure I have scareware. I'm very unfamiliar with computers and so I couldn't follow the Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide. Another problem is that the scareware is seriously interfering with my computer. By that I mean the scareware could interfere with downloads I might have to make.
Any help with removing the scareware would be greatly appreciated.
