Hi Moggy, welcome to GTG!
Try installing Sun's Java. It's more stable and secure than MS virtual java machine.

Thanks for responding.
I already have the latest Sun JRE enabled for both browsers. Pages requiring Java work well in both browsers. The problem is with the Javascript.

Is it possible to give an example page that's not loading correctly?

Good idea:
www.espn.go.com/
www.abcnews.go.com/
I don't get any messages about an inability to load the pages. The IE flag and Moz rotating arrows just keep going and going and going and nothing loads.

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.
Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

I clicked on the link, and the dancing Star Trek badge did its thing.
Could my firewall (MS version) be causing a problem with these sites? It seems odd that both browsers are affected. I can almost see Moz because of its popup blocker and I have Adblock installed, too. Still, with them disabled, the pages do not load with Javascript enabled, and I use both at work without a problem. Could it be an XP issue? We use Windows 2000 at work. 'Tis a puzzlment.

Actually, I checked the Hosts file a few weeks ago, for an unrelated reason, and the only thing in there is the local host IP. The file itself has never been deleted.

I wonder if it could be Spybot's TeaTimer
It has a built in block list, and I've seen some strange error reports associated with it. Try uninstalling and see if that helps.

I thought we had a winner there, Admin. I disabled Tea Timer and ESPN came up real quickly in Moz. I then tried ABCnews and it went right back to doing nothing. I tried them in IE and nothing. Odd that it ESPN worked like that right after the disable only to return to not loading.

P.S.
Actually, ESPN came up a couple of more times in Moz, only to stop functioning again. Nothing with the news site. IE was a complete no go.
