I have run ad-aware SE and Nortons Internet Security.
Nortons found the 3 Adware problems: Adware.Lop Adwarelstbar Adware.CDT but cannot delete them.

Hi gumnutcottage and Welcome to the Geeks to Go Forums!

You have a LOP.com infection, this is from installing the Sponsor Software with Messenger Plus 3.

Uninstall via Add/Remove programs: "Messenger Plus 3"
If you insist on using "Messenger Plus 3" reinstall without the "Sponsor Software"
Note: Sponsor Software = C2Media\LOP (parasite)
This is not a Microsoft or MSN product! Be aware that any update to "Messenger Plus" will cause the program to prompt you to install the "Sponsor Software".

You must uninstall the Sponsor Software when you uninstall Messenger Plus 3. This website has detailed instructions for uninstalling the Sponsor Software along with Messenger Plus 3:

After you uninstall Messenger Plus 3>>Run MSCONFIG and enable everything in the startup area. To get to MSCONFIG, click on Start -> Run -> type in MSCONFIG -> click OK!

Under the "General" Tab
Make Sure Normal Startup is Checked!!

Click Apply>>OK>>Follow the Prompts to Restart!!

Restart Normal and have the PC Scanned here
Panda Active Scan

You will need to be using Internet Explorer for the Scan to work!

Save the Report it generates!

Please post a fresh HijackThis log along with the report from Panda!
