Maxtor External Hard Drive Locked

I have a Maxtor Black Armour External Hardrive, I forgot my password and now when I try to unlock it it tells me Authentication Method Blocked. I was wondering if there was a way to reset it or something. I have no data on it so I'm not worried about losing anything. Any help would be great, thanks.
