Hello all,

I recently set up one of my office servers as an FTP server. I used Win Server 2k3 with IIS to set it up. Internally it works flawlessly. But if I try to access externally from home or any other internet connection I get errors.

I will note that I changed the FTP Port for this to 1031. That's the only real custom change I made.(One of my other servers is using 21)

I have included the connection log below. Any suggestions on how to get this working?

Status: Connecting to ***.***.***.***:1031...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220 Microsoft FTP Service
Command: USER **********
Response: 331 Password required for **********.
Command: PASS **********
Response: 230 User **********logged in.
Command: SYST
Response: 215 Windows_NT
Command: FEAT
Response: 211-FEAT
Response: SIZE
Response: MDTM
Response: 211 END
Status: Connected
Status: Retrieving directory listing...
Command: PWD
Response: 257 "/" is current directory.
Command: TYPE I
Response: 200 Type set to I.
Command: PORT 192,168,101,24,11,245
Response: 500 Invalid PORT Command.
Command: PASV

Status: Server sent passive reply with unroutable address. Using server address instead.
Command: LIST
Response: 425 Can't open data connection.
Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

Just to add some additional info.

I am behind a Linksys Cisco Router. Default setup. Ports 1025-3000 are opened and forwarding to the server. Also we are have our own T1 line. I have Windows Firewall off for now. Once I have the FTP working I'll add a firewall into the mix, but rather not complicate things until I have this working.

I also changed the FTP Data port to port 1030.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get this running?

I actually really just want to get this server running as an FTP server. If anyone has experience with other Apps they have used as an FTP server and can make a suggestion I would highly appreciate it.
