I currently have what I believe to be an unlicensed version of Avast 4.8 running on my computer. Lately every time I boot my computer, it tells me it is out of date. If I update the software, will it recognise that it is an unlicensed version? Thanks

Considering the current software is on version 5, is there a particular reason why you're still using v4.8?
You may find the software may not update unless you're running the latest version.

Why not just register it if it is the free home version?
