Hey Guys,

I've been doing some research and I need a CPU/RAM strong PC for pretty cheap. Its for this CPU intensive program that I need to run for my small business.

Here are my components so far:

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813135258

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819103872

Case Sunbeam VentMax IC-VM-BK Black Interior SGCC 0.6mm ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with 5PCS Case Fans and a Fan Controller $24.99

PSU Antec Basiq BP350 350W ATX12V v2.01 Power Supply $29.99

HDD Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive $39.99
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822136769

Memory PNY Optima 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model MD8192KD3-1333 $64.99
http://www.newegg.co...&Tpk=MD 8192KD3

CD/DVD LITE-ON SATA CD/DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM $20.98
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16827106289

OS Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - OEM $99.99
http://www.newegg.co...6-754-_-Product

This comes out to $420.92, roughly give or take some money for shipping....

Are all of these parts actually compatible? Is there any suggestions for bringing down the price?

THanks,

Robby

Hi rnc505 :D
I recommend you use a PSU calculator to make sure the PSU is powerful enough, 350W is low for what modern day computers require, look how many case fans your box has for example they will all draw power from the PSU putting stress on it, this stress is then transfered to all other components that have power going through them, a 350W PSU now may require upgrading later, if you do not intend fitting an add on GFX card in the future a good quality 400+W PSU would make me feel more comfortable also make sure there are enough power connections from the PSU for your HDD,CD and case fans, here is a PSU calculator http://www.antec.outervision.com/ this will only be a guide not a guarantee.

Edit: Couple of PSU options;

NB: Your PSU link needs changing.

So after a ton of more research, here's my FINAL list - can you guys take a look? (NOTE - I DO NOT PLAN PUTTING IN AN OMG or even a stand-alone Vid card, I'm just using the onboard graphics - If I do get a new video card, I'll upgrade the PSU also).

Motherboard BIOSTAR A880G+ AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard Newegg.com - BIOSTAR A880G+ AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard $44.99

CPU AMD Athlon II X3 445 Newegg.com - AMD Athlon II X3 445 Rana 3.1GHz 3 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor ADX445WFGMBOX $77.00

PSU Antec NEO ECO 400C 400W Continuous Power ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply Newegg.com - Antec NEO ECO 400C 400W Continuous Power ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply $34.99

HDD SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive Newegg.com - SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive $55.00

CD/DVD ASUS DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM Newegg.com - ASUS Black 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - CD / DVD Burners $16.99

OS Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - OEM Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - Operating Systems $99.99

All for $431.94 (not bad  IMO).

The PSU is a 400W, rated 80%+... will that be enough to power everything safely? Is there any combatibility issues I should look at?
Or Is this a safer upgrade: http://www.newegg.co...E16817371034...

On another forum (http://www.tomshardw...issing-anything - sorry if this isn't allowed) - the guy suggested that the 400W ECO 400 Antec would be fine, I would just like a second opinion.

Thanks!
