I have a Dell Studio XPS desktop. I shut it down a few days ago since before going on a short trip. I get back home and go to turn it on and here is what it does.

I push the button and the button lights up for a split second and the fans turn the same. the lights on the MB are lighting. I have unplugged it on both ends and plugged it back in and the same thing happens.

Hi dbrown100,
First, this is not a software problem; rather a hardware one.
Please tell me the computer model and its specs.
Have you checked your power supply ? Is any wire foul or loose ?

You should bring it to a repairing shop before it is damaged too much.
Is there any important document inside ? If the answer is yes, then you might want to back them up.
