N class router

i have toshiba satelite l300 with realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11b/g 54Mbps USB 2.0 network adapter
now i want to buy a router and my question is can i buy a N class router or i must buy a G class router and if i buy N class would my wireless work on my laptop

You can use a N router with wireless G equipment, it's all backwards compatible. It won't work any faster but it'll work.
