Hello. I have a problem when booting up my computer. It runs very slow and when we try to access the internet, it takes 5, 10 and up to 15 minutes to load a page. Can someone help? I have used this service before and love the responses and help that we have received. I have attached a Hi Jack This report. Hope this helps. Thanks,

First off I see a lot of Autoruns in your report so I'm going to start with that and another program to give em some info on your system.

1: Extract the Autoruns Zip file contents to a folder.
2: Double-click the "Autoruns.exe".
3: Click on the "Everything" tab
4: Remove any entries that mention "File Not Found" by right-clicking the entry and select Delete.
If you see anything that you are unsure of follow steps 5, 6, 7.
5: Go to File then to Export As or Save in some versions.
6: Save AutoRuns.txt file to known location like your Desktop.
7: Attach to your next reply.

Download and install Free Everest Home Edition
Open it.
1: In left pane expand Computer folder.
2: Click once on Summary
3: In upper menu, go Report
4: And then to Quick Report-Summary
5: Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.
Click the + by computer, click on Sensor. Get a screenshot and post it so I can check your temps and voltages...

Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop

• Please double-click TFC.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
• It will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.
• Click the Start button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Let it run uninterrupted to completion.
• Once it's finished it should reboot your machine. If it does not, please manually reboot the machine yourself to ensure a complete clean.

Download Auslogics Defrag from the link in my signature below. Auslogics Defrag in my opinion is better because:

It does a more comprehensive job at Defragging
It will actually show you what it is doing
At the end of working it will show you how much speed you picked up
You can view a online log of the files that Auslogics defragged
Please do not run any other Auslogics programs other then this one as they may cause unwanted results.



Now I see a few others that are questionable like the fax messenger entries that unless it is something use all the time you could uncheck also

Ok first issue I see is this:

System Memory 512 MB (PC2700 DDR SDRAM)

Though this may have worked fine in the past. With the amount of Autoruns you have this for sure is very low for the system to run correctly.
With any luck the autoruns and the two programs I advised earlier will help speed the system up.
A good amount of memory we suggest is 1 gig on a XP system as that will give you plenty for everything normally while increasing your virtual memory to help the system from slowing down.
Go to HERE and run the Crucial online scanner.
This will give you the exact memory configuration for your system.
You do not have to buy the memory from there, but write down the information and if you need assistance in purchasing the upgrade memory GTG can assist with suggestions also.

OK. I ran the TFC and Auslogics Defrag. Couldn't believe how quickly the defrag ran. I have checked out the Crucial memory upgrade. Is it easy to install and will I knock out/lose any of my information already stored on the computer? SOrry for all the questions, I just want to be sure before I possibly upgrade the memory. Nope it won't hurt the data you have as that is the hard drive and nothing to do with the memory.
Running the TFC and Defrag did that help your speed?

Yes. It has seem to speed up some and the pages are loading more quickly.

Is it fairly easy to install the memory cards?
