Hi

I have a problem with a system32\drivers\isapnp.sys file being missing or corrupt. It means I can't boot up. I get this message. I have a solution for the problem from the MS website but it requires me to start up XP from the CD. My PC won't let me do this. I have checked the BIOS and the CD-ROM starts up first. Can anyone provide any suggestions.

Many thanks

If it ignores the XP CD keep tapping the enter key while it is booting

It sticks on the Acer logo screen until I stop tapping enter and then it goes through to the black screen with the same info:

We apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start.....

No it will not let me start up in safe mode or safe mode with command prompt. It says about the isapnp.sys problem again.

If your PC has a floppy drive and you can use the PC you are on, this is for making a floppy start up disc

This is for set up discs, not sure if it will give you repair as an option
