Hi cooldee,
You can try reinstalling the sound drivers.
Drivers for Dell Optiplex GX260 can be found on their site here.
To uninstall the sound driver:
On the device manager, right click on the problem device and choose uninstall.
Reboot computer then install the updated drivers.
