my family has two computers I have one and the other is for everyone you know a family computer.

the family computer is a Dell and runs XP and the files that are corrupted on it are a sysetm file and the other is from Microsoft money 2005.

I need to know how to fix corruption and to stop files from being corrupted.

I would also like to know how files get corrupted?

First, what files are corrupted...how do you know?

How they get corrupted is....complicated. Turning the computer off by pulling the power rather than shutting down is a good way. Programs open files all the time...if a program crashes suddenly, it can corrupt the open files

the computer said they are and the files are Tfswctrl.exe, C:\windows\system,Chkdsk D:\ /F and mbfb 090.Tmd that is all I know.

did you run chkdsk?

If not, start > run
cmd
enter

type
chkdsk /r

say yes to scan at next boot

then reboot

I will do this but right now my dad doesnt won't anyone to tuch the family computer.

do you know how the Microsoft money file got corrupted?
