Hi. I recentrly rebooted my computer after going online and the background showed the blue screen of death saying that there is an error in IE because of Trojan-Spy.html.smtifraud.c
I ran a spyware program, and the newly released microsof spyware program. They both detected some spyware and I clicked on Fix. This did not truly help.
The next time I restarted the computer, It got passed the log in page, but the desctop and start button would not load anymore. The blue screen with the message was still in the background.
I did the suggestions of another discussion such as running Hijack This, Hoster, Killbox, and sss. In the end, when I turn on the computer, it gets passed the log in page. This time, there is only a blue screen with no writing, and that's it.
When I try to start internet explorer from iexplore.exe, I get an error message saying that it is not recognized.

You can try doing a system restore from safe mode, do you know how?

I know i can get to safe mode with F8, but that's about it. Would doing the restore make me loose all my files, and how do I do it?
I started the computer in safe mode, but all I get is a black screen, saying safe mode in the corners.

I did system restore, but I think the date was too recent. The blue screen with the fatal error message in IE is back.
