gmail won't forward from outlook

gmail is forwarding emails from outlook to a cancelled gmail address instead of our current gmail adress.We know this because some contacts have told us that their emails sent to our outlook address were bounced back from the cancelled gmail address.
How can we correct this?
Also, and this may be connected to the first question, gmail will not import our old emails and contacts from outlook. We have used the settings in our gmail acct. to initiate this function, but with no results.
